Besides
the regional choruses, the singers come together and
participate the large and the small union choruses.
Västergötlands
Manskör,
earlier called The Small Union chorus,
is composed of 25-30 singers from the member choruses, come
together some saturdays during the spring and autumn season for
exercising at the Skara music school.
The target for this chorus is to perform one or two concerts per year,
in the region or at a more distant place in Sweden or abroad. These
performances are often arranged together with a local chorus.
The biggest project so far was the three week long journey to Canada
and the USA in June 2000 with the main point concentrated to
the Minneapolis region and participating the chorus convent there.
In June 2001 the chorus had a performance in the Varnhem monastery
church together with the guests, the ASI-chorus from Minneapolis.
Besides there has been a journey to Luleå and a common concert with
Luleå- Gammelstad Mail Chorus in June 2002 and in Maj år 2004 to the Bohuslän
museum in the city of Uddevalla and the zoological garden Nordens Ark.

At the autumn 2006 the tour was located to Ludvika. In April 2007
Karlskrona and the Sandgrenska Kören was honoured by a visit.
The large chorus
consists of all the singers within Västergötlands
Sångarförbund and come together for concerts for example at the union anniversaries and other meetings.
In 2004
Västergötlands Sångarförbund celebrated its 95 years. The festival
took place at a sold out Vara Concert Hall with 225 singers on stage,
all
of them from the member choruses. Guest sololist was Erland Hagegård
accompanied on piano by Maria Frid-André from Skövde. The
instrumental
parts of the programme was performed by the Lidkoping Orchestral
Society.
